Nothing But Life Going on Around Here
Life is being lived around our home...unfortunately the camera and this website can't capture all of the fun moments, but hopefully we've got some of the highlights here below. We are currently enjoying a visit from Lynnsey's grandparents who have made our home their homebase while they are in the midwest visiting some family and historical sites in the area. We are happy to have them here and Garrett sure loves them! He wakes up each morning asking for them. We look forward to having Nanna come visit when the baby is born (about 6 weeks) and are trying to plan a trip to Utah to see the family the end of July. Hopefully all works as well as we think it should!
Grandma and Grandpa Happily reading to Garrett (he would read with them all day long if I'd let him)
We have had some scorching weather lately and Garrett has been outside with the neighbor kids enjoying it! He is trying so hard to be a big boy...luckily we have some nice neighbor kids who accommodate and entertain him!
Well its official....Stan is done being a second year student...kind of....he still has to take the first step of boards (the medical licensing exam) on June 12 and then he starts preparing for rotations in August! He has worked hard and has done well in school, we are proud of him. Despite all the hard work, we've been able to fit in a little play time together. Here is how he decided to finish up his second year...I guess you could say he went out with a bang!
The last day of school just happened to be Cinco de Mayo so Stan and some fellow classmates decided to celebrate Cinco de Mustache as well. They all grew beards starting April 1 and then shaved some really ugly designs into their facial hair for May 5. Stan was so proud of this and was complimented highly at school (I unfortunately wasn't as in love with it as all of his classmates and professors were and had him shave it as soon as he got home).
The "others" who also participated in Cinco de Mustache
Later that night was the Father's and Son's Camp-out sponsored by our church stake. Stan and Garrett unfortunately missed out due to some rotten weather and a sick child, so they decided to have a camp-out in the basement!
It took Garrett quite some time to fall asleep, but here he is sleeping away!
EASTER
The day before Easter we had an egg hunt with our friends, so to be sure that Garrett would be able to perform we put him through a trial run here at home. He loved looking for the eggs, at first he was really excited when he found one, but once he got the hang of it he would put the egg in his basket and immediately start asking for more. Here's a short video of him in action.

Now he's ready to go hunt for eggs, but not before he plays football with the boys!

Walking home with daddy. I thought this was just a cute picture.
The Easter Bunny brought Garrett an Easter basket filled with goodies and left a candy trail behind that led to these doggies. The mommy doggy and the puppy! Garrett carried them around all day, they had to eat with him, sleep with him...luckily we were able to convince him to leave them at home while we went to church.
We had a fun weekend with friends who have become family!
And of course, let us not forget....the Easter Family Picture
We've also taught Garrett some sign language. It has been very beneficial in helping us to understand him before he enunciates very well. Here's a little sample of what he knows and how it works.
