THE FINAL FRONTIER
Stan has weekends off during this section so we have been doing our best to take advantage. I guess you could call it our last hoorah's and also an increased attempt to make Garrett feel EXTRA loved before the baby comes along! So, we spent this past weekend up in Omaha, NE. Now I know you are thinking that Omaha isn't such an exciting place and you may be right, but we chose Omaha because it is the location of one of our church's temples so we spent part of Friday worshipping and then Saturday we went to the Omaha Children's Musuem. It was very age appropriate for Garrett and he loved the hands on activities. He was able to build with the blocks, shop at the grocery store, practice being the mailman, visit the farm, drive a tractor, dig for dinosaurs and much more! He had a lot of fun and we enjoyed watching him experiment with all the different activities and trying a few ourselves.
So...it's kind of a funny story. There were all of these dinosaurs and Garrett loved them. Then there was this mechanical version w/out the skin that one can control. So..Stan's videoing and I'm running the controls of the mechanical dino. Here's what happens...
It is a video...I usually have to click on them twice to make them work correctly. Don't give up on it if you don't get it the first time. They do work, you just might have to click play more than once.
Don't worry, Garrett wasn't hurt, just a little scared! He still loved the other dinos, but wanted nothing to do w/the mechanical screeching one!
What you are looking at here could very well be the last Kimball family picture as a three member family
Two weekends ago, we went camping at Harry S. Truman State Park. It's a beautiful place with a big lake, unfortunately we had to cut our trip short (Garrett and I got sick) and weren't able to spend as much time exploring the area as we would have liked to, but we did get out a little during the day and a half we were there.
Here's Garrett (our budding pyro) making sure Stan builds the fire correctly
Helping the turtle cross the road safely...by the way, turtles are surprisingly fast little critters...I don't think it needed our help at the rate he was cruising along, but we being the kind helpers that we are, felt obliged to make sure it crossed safely, but not before we posed for some pictures with it. Garrett loved watching him!
Now the randoms!!!
Blowing bubbles at the library
Making bubbles, while mom makes dinner...great way to entertain the guy!
Check out this video of him in action...pretty funny!
And lastly a few pictures of our casual stroll through the woods
