  • Welcome to our Life!!!

After being introduced to Xanga through friends (thanks Rinne's) and viewing numerous other sites to see how exactly this site can be put to use we have been persuaded to FINALLY join ranks with the Xanga-ers, in a last ditch effort to increase our popularity!  So with hopes of increased communication, we write our first of hopefully many entries onto our new site!

Thus far 2006 has been most enjoyable for us, although not much has happened there are a few events we'd like to share.

    INTRODUCING BABY BOY KIMBALL
    due July 6, 2006

For those of you unfamiliar with what you are looking at, the picture on the left is a shot of the baby's profile and the one on the right is his anatomy to prove to you all that we really are having another boy!  The ultrasound went really well and showed us a healthy baby!  We are really excited to have him join us this summer.  I (Lynnsey) have been feeling really well, especially now that I am approaching the middle of my second trimester.  I have been fortunate to be blessed with a pregnancy that so far has very similarly resembled my first one when I was pregnant with Garrett (ie I didn't have to suffer through morning sickness for too long, although I think any amount is too long!)

    JANUARY 2006

We visited the Crown Center (downtown Kansas City) with friends a couple of weeks ago and they have a temporary exhibit for children right now and it is all about animals.  There was some impressive artwork and really exciting activities for the kids.  Here are some pics of Garrett and friends checking out the action.

The Beehive:  Garrett would press the red button (behind him) and it would make a buzzing sound, which he loves to imitate.

Garrett's new passion is climbing on our kitchen chairs, so as a last ditch effort to buy myself some time while cooking dinner I set him up at the sink and had him "wash" his toys.  He loved the bubbles and tries to play whenever the opportunity presents itself.

    DECEMBER 2005

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend two weeks in Utah with our families over the Christmas holidays.  Unfortunately we got sick, but managed to participate in a few activities.  We loved visiting and are glad our parents still allow us to stay with them after we successfully mess up their homes!

    AND FINALLY...

For the past little while we have also been working on sending out a little New Year letter to our family and friends.  The letter is printed, the cards folded and somehow I just have the feeling that they aren't going to be completed and mailed so I am including the text of the letter here (to make myself feel better) and now you can all consider yourself having received it!

Life as a Kimball has been most enjoyable this year.  Not a whole lot has “changed” or happened, but Stan and Lynnsey did for the first time successfully (we think) make it through the whole year as parents.  Successfully means no one spent time in an emergency room and we are all still smiling!

This past year Stan finished his first year of medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and started his second year.  Stan really enjoys learning the material and is still trying to figure out what it is he wants to “be”.   Between the first and second year Stan spent 4 weeks in Alabama at Maxwell Air Force Base doing his Officer’s Training.  He met a lot of really good people and came back in top physical condition.  We feel really blessed to have the opportunity to be in the Air Force.  The first set of medical boards are in June and we are grateful he is getting them out of the way before baby #2 arrives in July (if he/she is on time).  We are excited to have the month of August off and anticipate rotations (no more book work!) beginning in September.

Lynnsey is thoroughly enjoying her time spent at home with Garrett.  This past fall Lynnsey spent her afternoons as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Park University, a local university that competes in the NAIA.  The university, team, and coach were very accommodating and allowed Garrett to accompany them on most road trips (which made for some interesting experiences).  Park did well and even made a brief appearance at the NAIA national tournament (which includes the top 20 NAIA schools in the nation).  Lynnsey enjoyed the experience and the coach asked her to join the team again next year, but due to the pregnancy circumstance and trying to juggle two children she has decided to play mom and just help the team out on the side.

Garrett is 16 months now and is mister curious.  He is into everything and finally capable enough to cause a lot of trouble.  Garrett keeps us on our toes, but he sure is a lot of fun.  He enjoys rough housing, reading books, and sucking his thumb.  We love the boy and are hoping he is excited about the extra company that will be sharing his room with him.

We were able to spend significant time in Utah this summer and it was really fun being able to enjoy having family around again.   Stan and Lynnsey were even able to escape for 10 days and vacation in Ft. Lauderdale, FL during the summer.  It was very enjoyable to spend time together and we greatly appreciated our families for helping us out with Garrett while we were gone.

We love being here in Kansas City, Missouri and are very grateful for the friends that we have made out here that make it a little easier for us to be away from our families.  The gospel is thriving, the church is true and we know that the Lord loves and watches over us.  May 2006 bring each of you joy, prosperity and most importantly happiness.   We love you all!
