Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We have been lazy posters! With so many holidays one would think we would be posting like crazy, but we've forgotten about the camera lately...perhaps a relief to some! For Thanksgiving we had a visit from Nanna, Poppa and Ashley...so much fun to have "real" family around for such a great holiday.
We had the opportunity to visit Santa a couple of times. Each time with the same result...Garrett sitting with him in order to get candy and Logan yanking on his beard.
Crayola Land at Crown Center...this is where Santa was in residence. They decorated it really cute and the boys had a great time running around while "waiting" to visit Santa.
We had a magical visit from Buddy the Elf, who wet Garrett's present opening pallet the night before Christmas.

We had a great Christmas. Definitely a little different without family around, but we enjoyed our time together as it seems to be increasingly difficult to find.

Garrett testing out yet another hat
And just a big toothy grin
You may be asking yourself what is wrong with Garrett's smile...truth is, we don't know! We've been trying to practice and end up with the same results each time! Guess we're not funny enough to warrant a true smile.
Nothing too exciting has been going on around here. Lynnsey leaves tomorrow for a trip to Utah while Stan is on rotation in the middle of Kansas for the month. Should have plenty of new pics to post upon return! Until then...
For those of you who did not receive a Christmas letter from us, I will post it below. If you didn't receive one, yet would like to receive a Christmas letter in the future you need to send us a current address because we probably don't have your address. Love you all
Well 2006 was a great year here in Kansas City, MO. We enjoyed beautiful weather the majority of the year; we were able to have a visit from the Asay’s and were also able to spend an amazing week in Florida with the Kimballs. Not much happened, but it was a good year. Oh yeah, Logan was born.
We welcomed Logan Rodney Kimball into our house on June 26, 2006 at 8:09 p.m. Logan is almost 6 months now and still does nothing! That is said with an exclamation because it is so nice to not have to worry about two movers around the house. I do lie when I said he does nothing because he does roll over from front to back. He smiles a lot and we have been told that he is a very happy child, most of the time we agree. He doesn’t demand attention, but is all coos and smiles when we give it to him. We think he is working on his two upper teeth right now, but that is yet to be seen. Logan has been a wonderful addition to our family and has made the transition from one child to two children quite painless.
Garrett is 2 years old and not quite as terrible as we imagined he’d be during the terrible twos! From what we hear he is quite the active child…we thought all boys were like him, but apparently we are wrong! Garrett is constantly moving and on the go. He loves to be outside, going to the zoo, singing, dancing and anything that moves! It is amazing to us that we have a child with intelligent thoughts and is able to express them pretty clearly. The hardest thing in the world for Garrett is having boundaries, restraints and limitations. He is trying to figure out that sometimes he needs to listen to mom and dad and that it’s not okay to run at will wherever we go.
Lynnsey is kept quite busy by both of these crazy boys. Grocery shopping with two children has become a skill and she is oftentimes able to make it there and back without any crying from the children! The house is a little messier these days, but our children are well loved, played with and definitely well fed! Lynnsey has realized that she really loves to cook, although it doesn’t seem to happen as often as she’d like. She also managed to find her way into coaching soccer again. She volunteered with a neighbor coaching a U-6 (under 6) team. She had a lot of fun and realized that children don’t necessarily get easier as they get older!
Stanley has been a busy fellow. In June he took his first step of boards and passed! Then in August he started rotations in the field. Each month he works with a different doctor in a different field. So far he has been able to be a surgeon (twice), an internist, a pediatrician and a family physician. His first months of rotations have been quite busy, but he is really enjoying the change from the classroom to the clinic. It’s crazy to be working in some small capacities as a doctor and definitely makes this whole path towards becoming a physician much more realistic.
Life is good! We know the Lord loves us and watches over us. We feel blessed to be here while Stan is working towards his career goals. Kansas City is beautiful! We have met some amazing people and think that the Midwest is truly wonderful. We hope this letter finds you healthy and happy. May the Lord watch over and bless you! Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year!
Love,
Stan, Lynnsey, Garrett and Logan Kimball
